Custom Order Beef Shares
Purchasing a Custom Order Beef Share requires a small deposit to be paid at the time you reserve your order. The total cost of your custom quarter, half, or whole beef share depends on the size of the animal. Your cost will vary slightly based on the weight of the animal.
Current Hanging Weight Price: $4.75 per lb. + processing fees (est. $1 per lb.)
The prices below are Average Beef Costs:
Quarter Beef: $725 + butcher processing fees
Half Beef: $1,450 + butcher processing fees
Whole Beef: $2,900 + butcher processing fees

2024 Schedule:
September 10 — Beef is processed
September 11 — Customers will be invoiced. Outstanding balance due.
September 11 - 18 — Customers must call in their cut order to Earl’s Meats.
Week of September 23 — Customer cut orders should be ready for pick up.
What is the total weight of beef from an order?
When our beef is ready for processing, a whole beef will average 1000 lbs. We can expect an average yield of 60-65% for the carcass hanging weight.
A 600 lb. carcass hanging weight will yield approximately 60% or 360 lbs. of beef to fill your freezer.
The majority of carcass yield loss comes from water loss (during the 14 day dry aging process) and bone loss. The more boneless cuts you requests, the less average take-home weight.
How do I reserve my Custom Order Beef?
When you purchase custom beef shares from Wild Vine Farms, you will have two costs: the beef and the butcher processing fees.
Payment Schedule for Custom Beef Orders:
Share Balance: Your final payment for your beef is determined by the weight of your animal as determined on the day your beef is taken to the meat processor. Once the butcher has determined the final hanging weight, we will email your final invoice. Payment for your beef is due to Wild Vine Farms upon invoice and can be paid via check, cash or online payment.
Processing Fees: Processing fees are in addition to your beef share cost. Your beef will be processed and packaged at Earl’s Meats in Holland, MI. You will be responsible for contacting Earl’s Meats directly to place your cut order. Your total Processing Fee will be dependent upon your individualized cut order. Your beef will hang for 2 weeks, be processed and shrink-wrapped. Once your custom beef order is complete, Earl’s Meats will contact you. Customers are responsible for picking up their order and paying Processing Fees directly to Earl’s Meats at the time of pick-up.
